In the first seven months of this year, Russia's ferrous metal export volume increased by 7.5 percent year on year to 22.861 million mt, worth a total of $12.1 billion, up four percent year on year, according to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat).
In volume terms, Russian exports of ferroalloys increased by 4.6 percent to 544,400 mt, exports of pig iron rose by 20.5 percent to 2.49 million mt, while exports of flat steel increased by 9.6 percent to 4.64 million mt, all compared to January-July 2013.
In January-July this year, Russia's exports of ferrous metals to non-CIS countries increased by 9.4 percent to 19.6 million mt, worth a total of $10.1 billion, while its volumes of supplies to CIS countries decreased by three percent to 3.27 million mt, worth a total of $1.99 billion, both year on year.
In the first seven months of this year, Russia's ferrous metal imports decreased by five percent year on year to 3.6 million mt, worth a total of $3.24 billion, down 6.3 percent year on year.
