Samsung Galaxy S6 Might Be Landing at The Consumer Electronics Show in LV Next Month

The Samsung Galaxy S6 could be landing much sooner than we thought, with analysts tipping the device for a January launch.

South Korea’s top tech crystal-ball gazers now think the upcoming flagship device could debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next month.

Samsung typically saves its Galaxy S- range for Mobile World Congress, which falls around February/March, with a release coming the month after.

The news comes courtesy of a Korean site called Chosun Biz, which cited Mirae Asset Securities.

The report revealed the likeliest window for a Galaxy S6 release would be between January 6 and 9, which puts it squarely in CES time.

The rumour mill keeps churning however, as the report also suggested Samsung would release a dual-edged version of the Galaxy S6 soon after the plain-bezel version landed.

If this is true, Samsung could be planning to use CES to launch the standard S6, with MWC seeing the ‘Edge’-variant debut.

We’ve already seen a raft of leaks regarding the Galaxy S6, with talk of a Cat. 10 LTE Exynos chip packed inside remaining at the forefront of the rumour mill.

The device is also expected to carry a 5.5-inch display with a 1440 x 2560 resolution, 32GB of storage, 3GB of RAM, and a 20-megapixel camera.

Although a CES 2015 S6 unveiling has been tipped, we would suggest taking these reports with a sizeable pinch of salt for now. The Vegas-based convention is not known for its mobile announcements, with Samsung far more likely to use to show to focus on its 2015 TV and home entertainment lines.
