As more and more people desire to be fashionable and trendy at the pool, swimwear brands are sticthing fashion elements to attract more customers and to boost their sales.

The changing trends of the consumers are prompting the manufacturers of swimwear to update the costume regularly. Some of the recent trends in swimsuits include laser cuts, animal printed patterns and sun protective clothing.

In an interview with fibre2fashion, brand owner of Colombia-based Maaji Swimwear, Ms. Amalia Sierra said, “We are seeing that every time the swim business is being taken by fashion and more trendy brands. We see laser cuts, lots of details and new styles.”

An Australian model Robyn Lawley recently launched swimwear solution for plus-sized women. The collection includes a blue and purple leopard-print bikini, structured tops with architectural straps and also a series of retro silhouettes in super stretchy material, with pleating, rousing and darts in specific areas.

“The one-piece and two-piece bikinis even have powermesh lining that effectively manages the troubled tummy area, which comes out apparently in tight costumes,” informed Robyn in a statement.

When asked about the latest trend in swimwear line for kids, Ms. Sierra says, “For kids, I do believe that there is an increase in demand for sun protective clothing and this will be something huge in the future.”

The latest swimwear collection by Sports Illustrated model Chrissy Teigen proves that swimsuits can also be a part of wedding collection. She has designed a bridal swimwear line for California-based fashion brand Beach Bunny.

"I want to wear a bathing suit for my husband that makes me feel sexy. I know other women feel the same way, so I was inspired to design a line”, said Chrissy in a statement.

Talking about the regions with high consumption of swimwear, Ms. Sierra says, “We see more consumption in areas around the world with more than one summer season like Hawaii, California and Miami.”

“These areas are trend setter in swimwear range and the brands focus on these regions for the business prospects,” she concludes.

The recently concluded Miami Swim Week featured snakeskin prints in bright colors with neon beadwork and other embellishments; animal prints like jaguars and penguins in soft pastels and warm tones of red, orange and lilac; floral and tropical prints; bold elephant print; blue Mallorca print with a side-string bikini bottom; floral, dip-dyed print as well as laser cut and embroidery works.
