Azienda Commerciale Meridionale Invests in Koenig & Bauer's Automated Commercial Web Press

Italy-based Azienda Commerciale Meridionale (ACM) has once agian invested in an automated commercial web press from Koenig & Bauer

KBA-Digital & Web is taking the responsibility for the relocation, installation and commissioning of an automated commercial web press.

The new web press is expected to begin operations by the end of this year. ACM is already operating a 16-page Compacta 215 press.

The 48-page Compacta 618 has been designed with a cylinder circumference of 1240mm (48.81in) and a maximum web width of 1450mm (57.1in).

It includes Patras M reel-loading system, Pastomat RC reelstand, infeed unit, four printing units, chill-roller stand and P5 pin folder, in addition to an advanced superstructure.

The management system KBA LogoTronic is said to handle the loading of job and presetting data, and involves in production monitoring and evaluation.

KBA-Digital & Web service head Thomas Potzkai said: “We are very pleased to be able to continue our successful partnership with ACM.”

ACM is a third-generation family business that produces advanced print products, according to individual customer needs.

ACM general manager Giuseppe Gentile said: “We are extremely satisfied with the reliability and quality of our Compacta 215 from Koenig & Bauer. It was thus only logical that we should choose to work with Koenig & Bauer again.”

In September, another Italian packaging manufacturer Arca-Box has invested in a new 7-color KBA Rapida 106 with in-line finishing for the production of luxury packaging.

Equipped for UV production, the KBA press is configured with a coater tower, two interdeck dryers and another coater in front of the three-fold delivery extension.
