According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), the country's manufacturing production in February this year increased 0.8 percent compared to January, after a month-on-month decrease of 1.3 percent recorded in January.
In February, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, rose by 1.9 percent, the production of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry increased by two percent, while the output of the construction industry rose one percent, all compared to the previous month.
In the December 2012-February 2013 quarter, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, fell by 0.7 percent, while production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry decreased by two percent, both compared to the previous three months. In the December-February quarter, the output of the construction industry in France fell 1.9 percent quarter on quarter.
