According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), following the 10.7 percent month-on-month increase recorded in May, in June this year Turkey's stainless flat steel imports fell by 13.9 percent compared to the previous month. The country's stainless flat steel imports were also up 61.7 percent in June compared to June 2012, amounting to 41,936 metric tons. The value of these imports was $96.7 million, decreasing by 17.4 percent as compared to May and up 45.7 percent year on year.
In the first half of the year, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports amounted to 225,875 metric tons, increasing 19.4 percent compared to the same period of 2012. The value of these imports was $549 million, increasing by 10.3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
