The Saudi commerce and industry minister, Tawfiq Al-Rabiah has said cement plants in the kingdom should maintain a strategic reserve of the commodity to prevent any future shortage, Saudi Gazette has reported. Cement manufacturer have placed orders with international companies and the first quantities of imported cement will reach the kingdom within two weeks, said chairman of the National Committee for Cement Companies, Dr Zamil Al-Muqrin.
