Enterprise image and data management company CoActiv Medical has announced the issuance of a new patent in the US for its web-based image sharing technology EXAM-SENDER.
CoActiv Medical's EXAM-SENDER technology automatically sends medical images, voice clips, reports and other patient information over the internet to authorized users' remote personnel computers and digitally alerts them when the data has arrived.
EXAM-SENDER is specialized component of EXAM-PACS enterprise PACS and it seamlessly integrates with EXAM-PACS.
The system is also available separately for integration into any existing PACS solution and also supports automatic, secure and encrypted transmission of non-radiology medical information.
Using a proprietary technology, EXAM-SENDER publishes lossless, full-resolution images to a hospital's CoActiv EXAM-SERVER.
Files are then automatically transmitted to the doctor's remote desktop without the requirement of virtual private network connectivity.
To assure data privacy and security, EXAM-SENDER uses secure socket HTTPS web protocols and Department of Defense 256bit data encryption.
CoActiv Medical general manager Frank Baker noted the company has long been in the vanguard of digital imaging technology.
"Our new patent is just one more example of the company's industry leadership. EXAM-SENDER is part of a range of complementary leading edge exam sharing offerings.
"CoActiv will maintain its industry leadership by introducing a broad spectrum of new features in its release of EXAM-PACS 3.0, which will debut shortly at RSNA 2013," Baker added.
This system is well suitable for use with referring and consulting physicians as well as radiologists in offsite locations.
