URAC has granted specialty pharmacy accreditation to CoramRx Specialty Pharmacy Services, a provider of complete specialty pharmacy solutions.
CoramRx, an affiliate of Coram Specialty Infusion Services, provides national distribution and local services through specialty pharmacy facilities including more than 85 infusion pharmacies and 65 ambulatory infusion suites across the US.
CoramRx operations director Lori Jordon said the growth of the company's customer base in the managed care and prescription benefit manager community led to the need to seek a second accreditation for the business.
"What makes URAC unique is its focus on and standardization of the quality improvement process and ongoing reporting of performance metrics for organizations seeking accreditation," Jordon added.
URAC president and CEO Alan Spielman said by applying for and receiving Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation, CoramRx has demonstrated a commitment to quality health care.
"Quality health care is crucial to our nation's welfare and it is important to have organizations that are willing to measure themselves against national standards," Spielman added.
