The Chinese steelmaker Shagang announced to raise its prices for construction steel products including rebar and high-speed wires by RMB20/ton for late August. After the adjustment, its ex-work prices for HRB400 rebar with diameter of 14mm-25mm are at RMB3,690/ton. Industry sources said that Shangang’s prices rise is mainly to reflect the current market condition. It’s learned that the prices of HRB400 rebar with diameter of 20mm have increased by RMB270/ton from a month ago to RMB3, 620/ton as of August 20th in the Chinese Nanjing market
