Sulzer Pumps has won an order to supply 12 containerized Diesel-Engine Hydraulic Driven Firewater Pump packages for installation on 4 FPSO vessels that will operate in the central Pre Salt Cluster areas South of Rio de Janeiro state and North of São Paulo State, in Brazil.
This order recorded in late 2012 demonstrates Sulzer Pumps as a recognized player in firewater applications and confirms the customer’s confidence in Sulzer Pumps to supply reliable, safe and efficient pumping packages for these applications.
Purchased and built by Estaleiro Enseada do Paraguaçu S.A, each FPSO vessel will have 3 Diesel-Engine Hydraulic Driven Firewater Pump packages from Sulzer Pumps containing centrifugal pumps, diesel engine, hydraulic power unit, fire and gas detection system and all associated auxiliaries. The pumps will supply seawater for all firefighting consumers within the vessel. The packages are entirely autonomous, and in case of any fire emergencies are able to operate continuously for 18 hours independently from the platform.
The design, product development and manufacturing for these pump packages will be done at Sulzer Pumps’ manufacturing facility in Brazil. Sulzer Pumps has been present in Brazil since 1948 with 2 manufacturing facilities and 2 service centers. With a facility in Jundiaí, São Paulo, it is a strategic center of development, manufacturing and distribution for Sulzer Pumps globally.
