US-based printing and packaging solutions provider Medius has invested in Canon Solutions America’s Océ VarioPrint i300 sheetfed inkjet color digital press.
Océ VarioPrint i300 press will support Medius in various applications, including technical publications, medical, tradeshow materials, data sheets and pamphlets.
Océ VarioPrint i-series inkjet color digital press can print up to 294 letter images per minute and supports a large variety of paper sizes up to 13.9" x 19.7" (B3) format.
VarioPrint i-series color inkjet printer can offer 600 x 600 dpi output with drop size modulation to deliver 1,200 dpi perceived image quality. Its automated inline quality control finds nozzle failure and automatically applies compensation to help maintain quality.
The press features advanced technologies that help to enhance sheetfed inkjet quality, while iQuarius CMYK inks can be used with the press for a broad color gamut and print robustness.
Medius manufacturing vice president Mike Zaia said: “Our entire business has now changed as we continue to shift types of work that were originally only done on offset to our inkjet press.”
Canon Solutions America marketing and production print solutions senior vice president Francis McMahon said: “We’ve watched as Medius has continuously evolved to help offer cost savings to customers while providing high-quality output.
“With their newest investment in inkjet technology, they’ve once more solidified their commitment to growth and are now leading the way as a dynamic and visionary commercial printer on the West Coast.”
