Microsoft has announced it is offering a free Xbox One to US students who snap up a Surface Pro 4 hybrid or Surface Book laptop
The limited time sale will last for the next 6 weeks and offer a saving of $300-$500 when splashing at least $848 on one of the requisite in-house Windows 10 devices.
The bundle will feature a game, an extra controller and a $50 gift card from the Microsoft Store. So you can't say fairer than that.
The offer runs until August 14.
Unfortunately, Microsoft isn't spreading the love to UK students, who face a tightening of their finances following the Brexit crisis.
Microsoft's seemingly generous offer is probably designed to help it shift remaining Xbox One inventory.
The firm is releasing the eagerly-award Xbox One S, which it unveiled at the recent E3 expo, by the end of the year.
The upgraded console will be 40 per cent slimmer than the 2013 original, contain a 4K Blu-ray player, a larger 2TB hard drive, as well as extra processing and GPU power for HDR gaming.
Would you turn your nose up at a free Xbox One when buying a laptop or hybrid just because it isn't the latest model?
