Owens-Illinois has introduced a new bottle design in Brazil for cacha a spirit maker Yaguara.
The bottle, created for the ultra-premium cane-based spirit, is manufactured at O-I's Soacha, Colombia, plant.
It has been designed by a collaboration of UK stained glass artist Brian Clarke, Yaguara, and a team of O-I Covet, which is a line of luxury packaging product from the firm.
The venture marks the first commercial collaboration for Clarke whereas it is O-I's third partnership to offer artistic aesthetic to consumers.
The design of the bottle embodies the artistry of Brian Clarke with a familiar form but sports a radical exterior, said O-I.
O-I Covet vice president and general manager Rildo Lima, commenting on the new project said, "O-I is proud to support Yaguara's strategy to create a new sense of luxury in the cacha a category. Offering this prestige product through a genuine work of art raises the profile of cacha a spirits in global markets."
Talking about O-I's role in this regard, Yaguara co-founder Thyrso Camargo said, "Their commitment to breaking the boundaries in glass and bottle design has led to the fantastic product we have today. Consumers have responded very positively to the product at both the launch events in Brazil."
