The Opel Insignia OPC wagon has been spied ahead of its official unveiling due at next month’s Frankfurt motor show.
Snapped by CarAdvice’s spy photographers wearing only light camouflage, the reworked Opel Insignia OPC wagon differentiates itself from the existing model with a new grille, new headlights and a tweaked rear-end with new tail-lights and chrome strip positioning.
Following the reveal of the facelifted Insignia sedan and wagon, and the new Insignia Country Tourer, the spy shots also reveal blue-highlighted Brembo brake calipers.
Inside is expected to mirror the standard model’s completely redesigned centre console, instrument cluster and eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, albeit uprated to a more aggressive Opel Performance Centre (OPC) specification level.
Engine details of the updated model are still unknown. The current car features a 239kW/435Nm turbocharged 2.8-litre V6 engine tied to a six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive.
Despite the likelihood that the facelifted Insignia would have made it to local showrooms in early 2014, this has been quashed with the news that the brand is exiting the Australian market after less than a year on our shores.
The Opel Insignia OPC launched in Australia in February 2013, priced from $59,990.
This year’s Frankfurt motor show begins on September 10.
