German rigid industrial packaging firm Mauser Group has strengthen its business with the acquisition of UK based company Daniels Healthcare Group.
Daniels Healthcare is engaged in manufacturing medical waste containers for hospitals, surgeries, needle exchange schemes, councils and the clinical waste industry.
Mauser SBU Europe head Dr Jürgen Scherer said: “As one of the European market leaders with our Mauser WIVA Medical Waste Container System we are more than delighted to offer now the well-established sharps container brand Sharpsguard to our customers.”
The acquisition is part of Mauser’s plans to invest in medical waste container capabilities in Europe to better serve as the preferred choice for medical waste containers and sharps containers to customer.
Daniels Healthcare managing director Howard Simler said: “We have a long standing relationship with Mauser as one of their main distributors in the UK for the Mauser WIVA Medical Waste Container System and are looking forward to the integration into the global Mauser family.”
In March 2016, Mauser Group subsidiary Mauser USA acquired US based firm Berenfield Containers, expanding manufacturing capabilities in the country.
Operating six manufacturing facilities in five cities in the US, Berenfield Containers produces a variety of steel and fiber drums.
Employing 4,500 people, Mauser Group portfolio includes plastic packaging, fiber drums, steel drums, Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC), and reconditioning services.
It serves customers in the chemical, agrochemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical sectors as well as in the food and beverage industries.
