Indian steelmaker Tata Steel has announced that its crude steel output for the financial year 2013-14 ending March 31 amounted to 9.15 million mt, increasing by 12.55 percent year on year. The company's liquid pig iron output in the given period was 9.90 million mt, up 11.7 percent compared to the previous financial year, constituting the highest-ever annual blast furnace output recorded by Tata Steel.
Tata Steel stated that in March it achieved an all-time record monthly billet production of 304,000 mt, compared to 293,000 mt in the same month of the previous financial year. In the full financial year, Tata Steel's iron ore production and shipments increased by more than 15 percent year on year to 17.3 million mt.
