According to statistics released by China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the country’s iron and steel industry realized gross profits of RMB113.1 billion in the first 10 months of this year, slumping by 48.3% year on year.
Among them, the gross profits of the Chinese ferrous metal mining sector amounted to RMB75.7 billion, decreasing by 3.3% year on year; the gross profits of the Chinese iron and steel smelting and processing sectors slumped by 73.7% to RMB32.2 billion.
In October alone, the country’s gross profits generated by iron and steel industry were at RMB22.1 billion.
