Exothermics Was Awarded Equipment Acceptance Certificates

Exothermics, a division of Eclipse Inc., Rockford, Ill., was awarded equipment acceptance certificates for a heat exchanger and an air heater for specific use on spray drying applications in the dairy industry. The specific models are Model SP-DA air-to-air heat exchanger and Model ER-DA indirect air heater. Manufactured by Toledo-based Exothermics, the indirect-fired air heater provides clean heated air for the dryer, and the air-to-air heat exchanger provides increased thermal efficiency through heat recovery. Dairy dryers can achieve 20 percent or greater energy savings from better utilization of the latent energy exhausted from the dryer, says the company. The equipment acceptance certificates were awarded in December after an extensive review by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Equipment Review Program. The review included an evaluation and observation of manufacturing methods and design principles. Both models are accepted for use in plants that require certified equipment compliant for the USDA Dairy Plant Survey program. The USDA Dairy Grading Branch certificate is in effect for a five-year period. Source: process-heating.com
