October average retail price for 7W LED light bulbs (equivalent to 40W incandescent ones) in the China market decreased 9.7% on month to CNY29.8 (US$4.7), while that for 9W models (equivalent to 60W incandescent ones) rose 1.9% to CNY36.9, according to Digitimes Research.
Average retail prices for 40W- and 60W-equivalent LED light bulbs in the Japan market in October stood at JPY1,697 (US$14.0) and JPY2,425 respectively, the former growing 1.5% on month and the latter slipping 11.0%, Digitimes Research indicated.
October average retail prices for 40W- and 60W-equivalent LED light bulbs in other markets were: KRW9,919 (US$8.9, down 0.2% on month) and KRW12,025 (down 7.8%) in South Korea; US$19.7 (down 5.6%) and US$18.8 (down 6.5%) in the US; EUR8.1 (US$9.1, unchanged) and EUR11.1 (down 14.6%) in Europe.
Philips 40W-equivalent LED light bulbs and 60W-equivalent models for sale in the South Korea market had the highest average lumen-price ratios of 101.1lm/US$ and 127.4lm/US$ respectively in October. In terms of luminous efficiency, Toshiba 40W-equivalent LED light bulbs and 60-equivalent models available in the Japan market had the highest average level of 83.4lm/W and that of 105.1lm/W respectively.
