The Duty Free Quota for Softwood Plywood Imports to The EU Was Exhausted on 24 July

The duty free quota for softwood plywood imports to the EU was exhausted on 24 July, according to the EU Commission’s Department General Taxation and Customs Union. The last volumes were subsequently allocated on 30 July. As a result, the quota has depleted a little more rapidly again in the last few weeks: In the last three and a half weeks before the exhaustion date just under 83, 000m³ were called forward. Just around 72, 000m³ had been registered in June, 87, 000m³ in May and around 70, 000m³ in April. As usual, January was the busiest month with 182, 000m³ imported against the quota. This was followed by a mere 63, 000m³ in February and around 92, 000m³ in March. Source: euwid-wood-products
