The US Rig Count Has a Increase While The Canadian Rig Count Was Unchanged

Baker Hughes reported Friday that for the week ending August 16, the US rig count was up 13 to 1,791, but down 123 from 1,914 rigs during the same week a year ago. The oil rig count increased by 12 to 1,397 and the gas rig count was up by two to 388.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count was unchanged this past week, holding at 358. Still, this total was up 32 from 326 rigs a year ago.
