TV Sales in China During The October 1 Holiday Period Are Estimated to Grow 2-3%

TV sales in China during the October 1 holiday period are estimated to grow 2-3% on year in 2014, according to sources in the supply chain.

Additionally, China-based research firm AVC has indicated it expects sales to grow 2.2% to 5.53 million units, with large-size LCD TVs and entry-level Ultra HD TVs as the forefront.

China-based vendors are putting in orders for 32-, 40-, 58- and 50-inch panels, but despite the on-year increase in LCD TV sales in China, and increasing demand for larger sizes, panel makers will not increase production capacity, the sources said .

Vendors are also increasing orders in for curved Ultra HD panels sized 65-, 75- and 85-inch.

The sources estimate LCD TV sales growth in China will not exceed 10% in 2014 and Ultra HD TV panel pricing will drop to 1.2 times that of Full HD units.
