AKOL Is Set to Computerize The Agricultural System in China to Help Government

Israel-based Agricultural Knowledge Online(AKOL)is set to computerize the agricultural system in Anhui province,China,in order to help government officials gauge the amount of food produced within their jurisdiction.

The project will enable Chinese agriculturists to calculate and control the quantities of food produced in their country, reported the Jerusalem Post.

The national Chinese government project will involve two phases. In the first phase, control systems will be installed to survey plant agricultural products. The second phase will facilitate monitoring of milk, poultry, pork and other animal products.

By the end of 2012,the Chinese government plans to implement a pilot of the computing technologies in all 13 agricultural zones of the province.

This project is a part of Chinese government's five-year national program for food monitoring. The government had transferred the budget to individual provinces for pilot projects, which are to be completed by the end of 2012.
