Sany Heavy Industry listed in FT Global 500 Sany Heavy Industry entered into FT Global 500 as the 431st with the market capitalization of $21.584 billion. It is the only Chinese machinery enterprise chosen in the list. Sany wins National Science and Technology Progress Prize On Jan 14th, Sany Heavy Industry’s project “engineering machinery technology and innovation platform development” won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award on National Science and Technology Awards Conference. The “corporation technology innovation project” is the only evaluation project on the conference that focuses on corporation. Among the award winners, Sany Heavy Industry is the only engineering machinery enterprise. The award is the highest national honor given to Chinese engineering machinery industry. In addition, Sany was awarded the golden prizes in patent and product appearance on Nov 8th. 62m concrete pump truck sent for Fukushima nuclear power plant rescue In March, 2011, a 9.0-magnitude earthquake hit off the east coast of Japan. The subsequent nuclear crisis at the crippled Fukushima Daiichi power plant drew the concern of the world. Sany promptly decided to donate a 62m truck-mounted concrete pump worth 1 million US dollars to help tackle the nuclear crisis in Japan. Liang Wengen ranks the first in China’s rich list On Sep 9th, the Asia edition of Forbes released the 2011 China rich list, among which Sany Heavy Industry’s chairman Liang Wengen ranked the first with a personal fortune of 9.3 billion dollars. In addition, Liang Wengen was also listed as the richest man in China in the 2011 Hurun Rich List, which was released two days earlier. Sany awarded National Model Enterprise of Harmonious Labor Relation On August 15th 2011, Sany Group was awarded National Model Enterprise of Harmonious Labor Relation on the awarding ceremony of National Model Enterprises and Industrial Parks of Harmonious Labor Relation. The award is government recognition of Sany’s sharing and win-win relation with its employees. Sany signs the project contract of its industrial park in Indonesia On April 30th 2011, Premier Wen Jiabao of China, who was on an official visit to Indonesia to attend the “China-Indonesia Strategic Business Dialogue”, and Vice President Boediono of Indonesia witnessed the signing of an investment agreement between Sany Heavy Industry of China and the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia.
