China Steel Corp. (CSC), the largest carbon steelmaker in Taiwan released its list prices for December.
The company decided to cut its list prices for EF Al-killed wire rods by NT$400/ton for December, considering to the requirements of downstream customers, in spite of higher scrap prices.
Also, this is the first time that CSC cut its EF Al-killed wire rod prices after keeping prices unchanged for consecutive five months.
After the adjustment, its list prices for EF Al-killed wire rods are at NT$20,400/ton and the actual selling prices are at NT$19,400~NT$19,900/ton.
In fact, market participants previously predicted that CSC would raise prices slightly or remain the prices unchanged for December due to higher input costs.
The prices of the US container HMS 80:20 (1&2) to Taiwan have increased to US$375/ton CFR recently, rising by US$15/ton from a month ago.
However, CSC finally decided to cut prices by NT$400/ton in order to help its downstream customer have better sales in export market.
