Mapsa and CDII Have Agreed a Joint Venture for The Construction of a Pig Iron Plant

It is reported that Peru's Minera Mapsa and US-based CDII Minerals have agreed a joint venture for the construction of a pig iron plant in Peru.

Basically, these two companies have a 50%-50% for joint venture will mainly to focus on the distribution and further exploration of Mapsa's mining concessions in southern Peru and the further distribution of ore from third-party mining concessions.

In the meantime, these two companies have invested approximately US$130~140 million in 5~10 years.

However, the companies expect to begin the operation within 3 year and it also designs a pig iron annual production capacity to reach 500,000 tons.
