Lumileds Launches Luxeon Stylist Series COB LED Arrays with Crispwhite and Crispcolor Technology, Tailored to Fashion Retail Lighting

LED maker Lumileds of San Jose, CA, USA has introduced chip-on-board (COB) arrays that use CrispColor Technology to deliver rich, saturated colors.

As part of the new LUXEON Stylist Series, this new approach to lighting caters specifically to fashion retail, in order to display merchandise more attractively. "The LUXEON Stylist Series goes well beyond energy-efficient lighting," says Luis Acea, senior manager, Stylist Series. "This is about identifying the most appealing light for the environment and using it to attract and maintain a loyal customer base," he adds.

CrispColor Technology from the LUXEON Stylist Series helps retailers strengthen their brand by creating signature lighting that is consistent in every store worldwide, says Lumileds. Spotlights and downlights that incorporate LUXEON CoB with CrispColor Technology achieve a higher color gamut with an outstanding center beam candle power (CBCP), Lumileds claims. Available in multiple lumen packages and a wide range of color temperatures (2700-5000K), the CoB arrays meet the exacting lighting requirements of fashion retail stores, the firm adds.

The LUXEON Stylist Series also includes LUXEON CoB with CrispWhite Technology, which is optimized to reveal the whitest whites in fashion retail items. To achieve that, it combines a specific color point at 3000K with specialized spectra to activate the fluorescent whitening agents (FWA) present in fabrics and paints. The new generation of LUXEON CoB with CrispWhite Technology boosts luminous efficacy by 13% at the same lumens compared to the previous generation.

Lumileds says that CrispColor Technology delivers more strongly saturated colors with a higher color gamut and will be available in a variety of product families (including CoB, Mid Power and Matrix Platform).
