Germany’s Siegwerk has launched a new packaging ink solution center, INKube, in Xin Zhuang Industrial Zone, located south west of Shanghai's central business district in China.
The new facility, which is part of the company’s comprehensive investment plans, is expected to help Siegwerk to expand its presence in China and in the entire Asian region.
Siegwerk Asia president Ralf Hildenbrand said: “With the INKube as focal point for Siegwerk in China we will be able to further boost our strong reputation and expand our solution, service and support offerings targeted to satisfy individual customer requirements.
“The new facility, with its collaborative work spaces and multi-purpose areas is a state-of-the-art environment and a great place to work.”
Employing over 220 people, INKube will use latest working methods to develop new products and solutions according to requirements of its customers.
The five-story building, which houses INKube, has a reception area, the INKsperience provides an overview of Siegwerk’s expertise especially in packaging inks and a range of packaging application, the company said.
Recently, Siegwerk concluded a comprehensive investment project, which includes the construction of a new blending centre for the production of water-based inks at its technical centre in France.
In addition to investing in automation, the company has increased capacity within the manufacturing of water-based and energy curable products at its site in Morganton, North Carolina, US.
