Samsung Electronics America has announced the commercial release of its U-Arm-based digital radiology (DR) system, Samsung XGEO GU60A, in the US.
The Samsung XGEO GU60A system is reportedly the first U-Arm-based digital radiology (DR) system, which features a TFT-based flat panel detector with company's proprietary Adaptive Local Contrast Stretching (ALCOS) software.
It provides a unique alternative to exisitng utility DR systems by combining core features with best-in-class usability enhancements such as LED indicator lights and individual blade control to minimize patient exposure.
The flat panel detector with ALCOS software enables the system to deliver high image quality, fast results and provide diagnostic confidence across diverse applications.
Samsung XGEO GU60A's U-Arm rotates from +120 degrees to -30 degrees and it also can be raised and lowered to suit the application.
The auto positioning function of the system allows the users to program the most frequently used positions and automatically swivel into place.
LED indicator lights helps in simplifying and enhancing patient/provider interactions by highlighting each procedural step.
Samsung Health and Medical Equipment (HME) unit group vice president Doug Ryan noted the Samsung XGEO GU60A offers a perfect balance of performance, flexibility and space-saving.
"Samsung is excited to continue to expand its DR portfolio with this compact and versatile system offering fast, easy and accurate diagnosis for use in environments where space is at a premium," Ryan added.
XGEO GU60A is ready for immediate commercial delivery in the US.
