US hardwood lumber exports rose by a total of 11% last year to 3.111m m3. According to information from the Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS) US hardwood lumber suppliers managed to raise their deliveries above the previous year’s levels practically in all relevant regions. The most conspicuous growth was achieved in East and Southeast Asia. In contrast, hardwood lumber deliveries to the EU fell again to the extent that the 27 EU states continued to lose significance as a sales region for hardwood lumber assortments from the USA.
