Handset shipments in China totaled 45.201 million units in April, increasing 11% from a year earlier, according to a China-based QQ.com report. For the first four months of 2015, China's handset shipments reached 154 million units, up 9% on year.
In April alone, shipments of 2G models slipped 2.5% on year to 4.865 million units and 3G models tumbled 91.6% to 2.444 million units, while 4G models expanded 472% to 37.89 million units.
During the January-April period, shipments of 2G models gained 13.9% on year to 18.716 million units, 3G models declined 89.5% to 11.403 million, while 4G models jumped 658.7% to 124 million units, said the report.
