Sectra, a developer of IT systems for radiology and women's health, has gained rights for Krucom's radiation dose monitoring Intulo system.
Intulo system enables major time and quality gains in medical care and reduces the risk of patients being exposed to unnecessarily high radiation doses in conjunction with radiology examinations.
Sectra medical systems business area president Torbjorn Kronander said the company is increasingly being asked by its customers about dose monitoring.
"With this acquisition, Sectra will be able to provide a well-tested solution that contributes to enhanced efficiency and increased safety in medical care in an international market," Kronander added.
Sectra said its existing customer, Region Skane, has been using Intulo as a regional quality system for radiation doses, with collation, storage and analysis of radiation dose data from more than two million radiology examinations performed at some 100 radiology modalities.
