ASG Plans to Expand Its East Flat Rock Plant in Henderson County

Global packaging company ASG (AGI Shorewood) plans to expand its East Flat Rock plant in Henderson County, North Carolina.

The expansion, which is expected to add about 50 jobs, will include positions in the facility's pressroom, die-cutting, gluing, digital pre-press, customer service, production planning and shipping and receiving.

The company intends to invest around $8.55m in new real property, while the investment also includes the expansion of the existing 136,000ft2 manufacturing, distribution and office operation, which was originally built in 1959.

The investment will help in improving packaging offerings, which will serve customers in the entertainment, personal care, health care and pharmaceutical segments, according to the company.

ASG supply chain general manager and vice president Bob Lennon said the expansion signifies an optimistic future for the company.

"This facility continues to demonstrate an unrivaled customer focus and drive for continuous improvement," Lennon added.
