Digirad has unveiled its Molecular Breast Imaging Accessory, designed for use with the ergo imaging system, for the evaluation of lesions in dense and complex breast tissue, and other small body parts.
Molecular Breast Imaging Accessory, which features a user-friendly design including specialized imaging assembly and breast-mode software, captures all normal mammographic views for direct correlation with the patient's mammogram.
Using the company's Large Field of View (LFOV) solid-state detector technology with an oversized field-of-view, the Accessory obtains comprehensive and high-contrast images.
The technology's open design also provides easy access for hands-free breast positioning on patients who can be seated, standing, or lying down during the examination, claims the company.
Digirad chief executive officer Todd Clyde said, "This launch marks another key step in the company's strategy to expand its imaging technology footprint in the hospital through the use of flexible, portable systems with devices that have expanded diagnostics capabilities."
