Burnside Brewing, a US-based company, has launched Couch Select Lager in Rexam 12oz cans.
According to Rexam, this is Burnside Brewing's initiation into single serve packaging.
Burnside Brewing owner and manager Jay Gilbert said through its partnership with Rexam, the company has a classic, retro-looking package that will attract customers.
"We have a great collection of old cans in our pub that became the inspiration for the Burnside Couch Select's label design," Gilbert added.
Burnside Brewing selected aluminum cans as they are light-weight, protect the product from light and oxygen, while helping preserve the freshness of the product inside.
The durable and portable cans serve as a greener packaging option as they can be recycled at more than double the rate of other options.
Rexam BCNA president and CEO Rich Grimley said: "Our cans are the ideal choice for Burnside's expansion into single serve packaging. They help the brand attract attention on store shelves, safeguard beverage integrity and deliver outstanding value by providing superior recycling, filling, distribution and retail display economics."
Global beverage can maker Rexam has 55 can making plants in more than 20 countries and employs around 8,000 people. The company's sales were in the region of $6.5bn in 2013.
