The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, US, has purchased Elekta's two radiation therapy systems.
Equipped with the Agility multileaf collimator, Versa HD linear accelerators provide high-speed, high-precision beam shaping to support accurate tumor targeting and improve healthy tissue preservation.
Versa HD now enables high-definition beam shaping over a larger treatment field, expanding advanced treatments to a broader spectrum of tumors, claims the company.
The FDA-cleared technology, when combined with a High Dose Rate mode, is also expected to provide rapid delivery of more therapies within standard radiotherapy treatment times.
