US-based packaging firm Reynolds Consumer Products has acquired operations of trash bags supplier Trans Western Polymers for an undisclosed sum.
Following the move, Trans Western Polymers will be combined with Reynolds' Presto Products subsidiary to produce store brand products that supply national retailers.
The combined companies will improve manufacturing footprint, distribution efficiencies, and gain additional capacity in waste bags in order to offer better quality and service to support the continued growth.
Trans Western US president Matthew Kim said the company is excited to join Presto and Trans Western Polymers to create synergies in capacity, technology, and service.
"Our combined experience in store brands will help us grow in the waste bag category," Kim said.
Trans Western Polymers manufactures and distributes private label plastic trash and food storage bags and serves mass, grocery, drug and dollar store channels.
