Boussaa Emballages Invests in New KBA Rapida 105 PRO

Boussaa Emballages has invested in a new five-colour press with coater that will go into operation next March in the Tunisian capital Tunis.

Mohamed Boussaa was 18 years old when he founded his company in 1958 thus making it one of Tunisia's oldest printing firms. Until now Boussaa was nearly exclusively active in the commercial print sector and only produced a small volume of packaging. The company's recipe for success is no compromises in terms of quality and the highest level of transparency when it comes to pricing.

New business unit for packaging printing

After more than half a century, with Boussaa Emballages Skander and Elyes Boussaa, the children of the company founder who has since died, founded a new business unit for the growing packaging market. The new production hall is situated close the airport of Tunis and thus offers the best starting position concerning logistics.

Whereas the company operated B2 presses from other manufacturers in the past, the entry into medium format takes place with the new Rapida 105 PRO as KBA is the renowned technology and market leader in packaging printing and the regional agency Graphic Evolution offers first-class consulting. A tailor-made solution was found together with Boussaa Emballages. Automation modules minimising makeready, such as fully automatic plate changing for fast plate change, DriveTronic SRW for simultaneous roller washing, FastClean for quick dampening unit washing and LogoTronic Professional for highly automated job data management based on CIP4, were decisive for Skander and Elyes Boussaa. Some of these automation modules can only be found on KBA presses.

KBA Sheetfed Solutions sales engineer Noureddine Amalou said: "The companies are not on the look out for the cheapest machines possible. They are more interested in a higher level of productivity and ROI certainty." The Rapida 105 PRO stands out from the crowd when a closer look is taken at the technology offered. Boussaa Emballages, one of the most influential printing companies in Tunisia, opted for this press in the end.

KBA-Sheetfed Solutions sales director Sven Strzelczyk said: "The investment in a Rapida 105 PRO will make waves at other printing firms in the Maghreb countries. We are pleased to be able to deliver one of the first presses of this new series to Boussaa Emballages." Skander and Elyes Boussaa feel the same. "KBA presses are the roses of printing presses. When the right conditions are in place, we will purchase one someday." The company founder's wish has now become a reality.
