In the January-July period of the current year, Georgia's total external trade turnover with Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, , including exports of $144.15 million, up 43.81 percent, and imports of $968.40 million, up 32.93 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In the first seven months, semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel ranked second among Georgia's exports to Turkey, amounting to 47,146 metric tons, up 65.07 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the value of these exports totaled $22.76 million, up 69.97 percent year on year. Exports from Georgia to Turkey of the semi-finished products in question had only amounted to 28,561 metric tons in the same period of 2013.
