One of the core values at NAME IT is ‘Be Green’. Therefore, the brand is proud to announce the launch of a new concept that brings eco-friendly reuse and recycling of textiles into focus.
“As a part of the textile industry, we are aware of our responsibility to reduce the impact our production has on the environment and to ensure sustainable disposal and eco-friendly recycling of garments as well. Therefore, we have established a collaboration with the German recycling company I:CO, which collects and ensures that textiles worldwide are reused”, says Heidi Bonnet, PR Responsible at NAME IT.
As of 31 October, consumers can hand in their used and ragged clothes and shoes in all NAME IT stores in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands – regardless of brand, condition and quality. From here the textiles are sent to sorting facilities where they are categorised and passed on to recycling or disintegrated into fibers that are used in new products, e.g. as playground surfaces or filling for teddy bears.
For every kilogram of clothes and shoes collected NAME IT will donate EUR 0,6 (about DKK 4,5) to charity organisations in the above mentioned countries. Common to them all is that they work to improve the conditions of children
