Luzinterruptus Collect Enough Glass Bottles to Create a Olympic Molotov Cocktail Monument

It took a month for theLuzinterruptus design studio to collect enough glass bottles to create a large Olympic molotov cocktail monument. When they had about 500 units, they cleaned them of labels and carefully began the preparation. Their primary design intention was to give these already used bottles and containers the “appearance of menacing molotov cocktails”. But why?

In an effort to dissuade the Olympics coming to their hometown, this design studio made an illuminating statement without actually using any molotov cocktails. Their political light installation “Olympic Games as a Strategy for Destruction” took place on March 18th, 2013. This installation used five rings, each ring measuring six and a half feet in diameter, completely made up of recycled bottles. They replaced the fuel (of the molotov cocktail) with colored water and the wick burned with the warm glow of an LED. See their installation in progress in the video below:
