Domestic prices of Chinese herbal medicine have increased since 2009, which severely impacted foreign trade of Chinese herbal medicine. The export of Chinese herbal and Chinese herbal pieces is 200,000, by 31% year on year. The export declined by 2% in 2012 and the slide was under control.
Export prices of Chinese herbal medicine and Chinese Herbal Pieces increased by 33.6% in 2011. The prices rise fell to 14.3% in 2012. Prices of most species sustain a steady growth to avoid price booms and busts.
In 2011, China Commerce Department authorized Chinese medicine health products import and export chamber of commerce to build one monitoring systems, which can provide information about Chinese herbal medicine sale and production and price trend.
