Wireless internet capabilities have been added to easyHotels – the accommodation arm of the Stelios easyGroup – by a small Irish player in the burgeoning Wi-Fi market.
Bitbuzz has deployed the connectivity to three of the hotels in London, in what it deems key business locations across the capital – namely Victoria, Earls Court and Paddington.
The roll-out is a first for the new hotel chain, which currently focuses on the "sacrifice of a bit of luxury space" to provide central locations at lower costs.
For Bitbuzz, however, it is the latest in a line of deployments in the hospitality sector as, despite only entering the UK market in 2010, it has already signed contracts with Travelodge, Holiday Inn and Choice Hotels.
The first pilot for easyHotels was at its Earls Court venue. Bitbuzz claimed to have recorded more than 7,500 logins and more than half a million minutes of internet usage since its installation in January 2012.
"We are delighted to offer an even greater service to our customers through our partnership with Bitbuzz," said Joe Stenton, owner of the easyHotel in Earls Court.
"Fast, reliable Wi-Fi has become a necessity within the hotel industry, and our new offering ensures we continue to provide the very best in value and service," he said.
There are nine easyHotels in the UK, with further additions planned for later in 2012.
