Tata Motors will collaborate with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) to develop two sports utility vehicles, to expand its reach in the global market.
Performance and handling support for the upcoming vehicles will come from JLR, and Tata is planning to make one seven -seater and the other five-seater car with price range between $26,461- $41,345 in India, reported Live Mint.
The new cars will debut in 2017, and it will mark the beginning for the companies to explore each other's platform, something that was not happening due to production and cost related issues amongst the companies.
Reportedly, Jaguar will help Tata in designing the architecture, enhance performance and bring a better body to the new SUVs, so that it clicks in the global market.
Tata was unable to make its mark in the global market of passenger vehicle because of quality related issues, but with the new venture Tata reportedly aiming to capture the South-East Asian and Gulf market.
