BLOOMINGTON, MN (BRAIN) — Retailer Penn Cycling is offering free bike repair and maintenance classes to all participants in the Minnesota High School Cycling League.
The League, sanctioned by the National Interscholastic Cycling Association, is holding its first race season this year; Penn Cycle is one of the league's founding retail sponsors.
“Penn Cycle has been a great partner to help us build the high school mountain bike league in Minnesota,” said League director Gary Sjoquist, who is also QBP's advocacy director. ”I hope our students grab this opportunity to learn about maintaining and repairing their bikes.”
The classes will take place on Saturday afternoons at Penn Cycles' Bloomington, Woodbury and Minnetonka locations. Class size will be limited to 20 students with repair stands provided for each attendee. Students bring their own bikes to work on.
“We’ll cover the basics from drivetrain to suspension,” said Bucky Geib, the store manager of the Bloomington location. “Student athletes interested in attending our classes simply have to send an email to contact information and the class location they would like to attend. We’ll send a confirmation email back.”
