Al Jawad Invests in KBA's New Six-Colour Rapida 106 Press

Al Jawad Group has invested in a Koenig & Bauer’s (KBA) new six-colour Rapida 106 press, in a bid to expand its production operations.

The company is purchasing six-colour Rapida 106 with coater, extended delivery and highspeed functionality as a replacement to three older sheetfed offset presses.

The new fast medium-format Rapida press includes automatic non-stop pile changing and logistics systems for the feeder and delivery.

KBA’s system also includes ink rollers in the fifth printing unit, which can be washed parallel to production.

Three years back, Al Jawad invested in a six-colour sheetfed offset press with inline foiling unit and provisions for both conventional and UV applications.

Al Jawad mainly focuses on producing flexible packaging solutions for the food and detergent industries.

The firm’s offset printing department manufactures primary and secondary packaging solutions, including corrugated board.

According to KBA, an above-average increase in demand is expected for packaging in the Middle East, specifically Saudi Arabia.

Koenig & Bauer agency Al Kharafi general manager Abdalah Al-Hareri and Al Jawad general manager Ehsan Al Khars said: “It is impressive to experience the production speeds of up to 20,000 sheets/hr on the Rapida 106. The new press replaces three older models from another manufacturer, but still offers ample production reserves

“Over the course of the project, we found that the advice given by the Al Kharafi team was paramount in determining an optimum solution. This productivity gives us the desired differentiation and necessary lead on the market.”
