Performance maestros Full-Race Motorsports have released details of a 298kW/474Nm version of the Ford Fusion that’s bound for this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas.
The specially tuned Ford Fusion is armed with a BorgWarner turbocharger matched with a cat-black exhaust and cold air intake.
The pairing results in a substantial lift in output over the standard 2.0-litre EcoBoost model, which generates a relatively modest 179kW/366Nm.
The re-engineered Fusion has also been lowered and gets a full body kit with lightweight alloy wheels and Full-Race decals as part of its unique SEMA livery.
Inside, the Fusion boasts a tech-savvy makeover including a 7-inch touchscreen tablet built into the dash.
“The tablet operates on an Android system and allows the driver to do all kinds of data logging or connect to wireless internet,” said Eric Marquiss, logistics manager for Full-Race Motorsports.
There’s also custom leather upholstery by Katzkin.
DSO Eyewear created their version of the 2014 Ford Fusion Titanium wearing a tuxedo black paint job with gold trim from BASF.
Powertrain upgrades include a Banks Power straight-shot water-methanol injection system and iQ Man-Machine Interface.
The interior boasts custom seat inserts made from perforated material, along with suede trim and gold-painted accents from BASF and a Rockford Fosgate sound system.
The Fusion nameplate is known as the Mondeo in various other markets around the world, including the UK and Australia, but these markets won’t see the current-generation car for at least another 18 months.
The delay is due to production moving from its current location at Ghent, Belgium to Ford’s Valencia plant in Spain.
Ford Australia has confirmed EcoBoost petrol and diesel variants for this market, but say it’s still too far out to talk specific engine sizes and other specifications.
