ID Overseas Inked an Agreement with Dickie to Explore The Growing Basic Workwear Market

Indian apparel exporter, ID Overseas has inked an exclusive licensing agreement with US based workwear brand Williamson-Dickie to explore the growing basic workwear market in the Indian sub continent.

According to ID Overseas CEO Ravi Karthikeya, the Indian basic workwear market is pegged at around Rs 1,300 crore and is growing at a CAGR of 15 per cent and expected to reach Rs 6,000 crore by 2020.

Williamson-Dickie, popularly known as Dickies sells its brands in the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe, China, Japan and the Middle East.

The licensing pact is for ten years and covers India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal and allows ID Overseas to design, manufacture and sell Dickies branded uniforms & footwear, a news agency reported.

Basic workwear is mainly used by hospitality, energy, healthcare and manufacturing sectors.

“With manufacturing getting a push, there is tremendous scope for workwear and safety wear uniforms in India,” Karthikeya said.

Williamson-Dickie is a provider of authentic work apparel, specialising in innovative performance work wear since 1922.

ID Overseas is a group company of Indian Designs Exports Private Limited and is supplier to some of the world's best-known and most respected clothing brands.
