Trade Resources Industry Views JDA Customers Have Been Named to The 'apparel Top 50 for 2015' List

JDA Customers Have Been Named to The 'apparel Top 50 for 2015' List

According to JDA Software Group, its 35 JDA customers have been named to the ‘Apparel Top 50 for 2015’ list.

“These JDA customers include American Eagle Outfitters, Chico’s, Christopher & Banks and New York & Company,” a JDA press release informed.

This annual list, published by Apparel magazine, is based on each company’s annual sales profit margin.

“Despite facing a slew of challenges, this year’s Apparel Top 50 companies kept their eyes on the consumer,” said Jordan Speer, editor in chief, Apparel magazine.

These delays included huge delays related to the West Coast port strikes, weakened international currencies, extended cold weather patterns and slow foot traffic.

“Retailers ramped up omni-channel efforts, from the front of the supply chain to the back, to enable an increasing number of ways and places to offer products while keeping inventories in check,” Speer added.

Wayne Usie, senior vice president of retail at JDA noted that the 35 JDA customers on this year’s list rely on a diverse range of JDA solutions to master the challenge of profitable omni-channel selling.

“From store operations and assortment planning to inventory management and intelligent fulfillment, achieving a profit in today’s omni-channel marketplace means aligning the entire supply chain,” he too added.

“The Apparel top 50 retailers have managed to deliver a high level of service, while also controlling costs to achieve profitability,” Usie observed.

“We are pleased to see so many JDA customers on this list, because our retail solutions are specifically aimed at the challenge of balancing high service with high margins,” he too noted.

A recent JDA study found that, despite increasing investments in omni-channel sales capabilities, only 16 per cent of retailers and consumer goods manufacturers can fulfill this demand profitably.

Highest among these companies’ concerns is the steep cost of fulfilling orders across channels, offering the flexible delivery and product return policies demanded by consumers, while still meeting financial targets.

Usie added further, “As retailers make more aggressive price and service offers in order to win shopper loyalty, it is important that they understand the true cost to serve before making the promise.”

JDA is a provider of end-to-end, integrated retail and supply chain planning and execution solutions for more than 4,000 customers worldwide.

Its solutions empower its clients to achieve more by optimising costs, increasing revenue and reducing time to value so they can always deliver on their customer promises.
